Thought #45 Late Holiday Greetings

I hope you all had happy holidays! Okay, I know I know I'm so late writing a post about the holidays but hey its my blog so whatever. December finally came and I got to go visit my family and it felt great being home and not riding the train lol also not having to wake up for school or interning or work. I had about a whole month of relaxing and hanging out with friends. Below are a few photos of my trip.

        New Years Eve, I had such a good night with my friends I missed them and our crazy nights lol.

I had such a good time at home. I had nights to myself where I asked myself if I should ever move back home and the answer is an easy no. I don't think I can move back home. I love California but, I think my time there has ran its course. I see myself staying in New York for a while or even moving to London. I'm in the process of applying to the London College of Fashion. We'll see where that goes!

Thought #44 Moment for life

I know I've been away for a "few" but life has been crazy over the last I don't know two months. I was suppose to be moving into a new apartment with a friend from back home who moved in with me at the end of the summer. Two days before we had to move out of my home he told me that due to financial reasons he could not afford to move in with me. AHHHHH I know right, imagine looking for two bedroom apartments for two months then having to suddenly find a one bedroom in basically a day. I did it though! I found a nice cozy one bedroom not to far from where I was living. Oh and it all happened during midterms week AAHHHHH again I know lol. I believe that everything happens for a reason and when one door closes another one opens. So I couldn't be mad at my "friend" because I know how hard it is to to live in NYC when you're from a different state.

Anywhooooooooo I got a new internship guys. I know I know I didn't think I would leave Marie Claire until I got my first degree but this offer was like once in a lifetime. I don't want to say the name of the magazine I'll be interning at but just know it's number #1 and starts with a V :]. I cannot wait until January is here. I leave to go back home on friday the 14th and come back here to NYC on the 5h of January refreshed, recharged and ready to go.

These New York moments I'm going through hectic and calm, I take em all in. I live for these moments that become memories.

Thought #43 Saint Louise

Okay, if you know me you know I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sex and the City! I often find myself relating to the main character Carrie Bradshaw played by the talented Sarah Jessica Parker. I really related to her character in the Sex and the City movie where Bradshaw had been at her lowest point and had to kind of be taught to forgive and love again. She did this with the help of her new assistant Louise from St. Louis who she soon began to call Saint Louise. Louise not only helped Bradshaw get her life back together but she helped her heart get back together as well. 
The reason I said I can relate is because I had a friend from back home (Los Angeles) come stay with me in New York for a few months and she really helped me face demons I thought I had dealt with in the past. She helped me by really just listening to me and expressing her past heartaches as well. I never really have had someone listen to my problems and can actually relate. I believe she was God sent, here to in a way to help heal me. I thank God everyday that I have her as a friend even though we didn't quite start out as friends back in early 2009 things have a way of working itself out lol! Love you (Louise)Rach!

Thought #41 Intern Friends

One thing you have to have in an internship is friends. Friends are there to coach you on when you feel like you should give up. Friends are there when there's nothing to do in the office so you sit together and fold socks. Friends are there to bond with because chances are you'll be working together someday in the near future being as though you guys are the next generation. As you all know I have interned in three different fashion closets in the past, and one of the things that kept me going was knowing that I wouldn't be doing any of those crazy task alone. I knew that everyday I would have at least one friend who was there to stick out those long 12 hour days with me and still be smiling as were packing trunks for a shoot or building racks lol. I have had the pleasure of meeting some very incredible,talented and caring people in the course of these internships and I am grateful that I have. I love each and every one of you and wish you all the best of luck in your search for careers!
