Thought #13 I Heart NY

As you guys know I moved to New York January 5th, 2011 so I've been here a little over a month. This has been the biggest move I've ever done leaving my family, friends, and weather behind. Since I've been here I've been in sort of a funk, I haven't really felt like myself. My grades has slipped badly I can't focus on anything I'm a mess. I often thought about packing my things and moving back home but today I sat here looked around watched a few episodes of THE CITY and felt like someone had slapped me across the face. I felt like someone slapped some sense into me right then and there. I then remembered why I came to New York which was to make my dreams come true. I came to New York for a career in the fashion industry and thats what I'm going to get. To my readers out there who are thinking about moving and leaving everything behind remember it will be hard at first but as long you keep your mind on whats important you'll be okay.

and the rest is still unwritten.. .

Thought #12 Soho

Just a day in Soho;New York

Thought #11 Bags for Less

I've loved this bag for as long as I can remember. When I worked at Urban Outfitters I thought about buying it many times but $98.00 for a bag is quite a lot of money and it isn't designer so I never did. Last week I was in Urban doing some lurking around and stumbled onto this. Marked down to $20.00 from $98.00 I had to buy it. At first I was hesitant because I wanted it in olive green but I said forget it $20.00 is $20.00 and now its mine and I love it!

Thought #10 French Anyone?

In high school I passed spanish with a B+, do I remember any of that now? No lol but I've always wanted to learn french but I couldn't do it in a classroom. The other day I thought to myself I'll go buy french for dummies and thats what I did I also bought a little night light so I could read it late at night and not bother my roommate (college life).

Thought #9 The Intern

So for fashion week I go to help w. Jeantrix Clothing Co fashion show being that the man I'm an intern for is their manager. Here are some behind the scene photos being taken while prepping for the show.

By the way this was my first fashion week fashion show I hope to one day soon to be in the audience representing a major fashion magazine.

Thought #8 Quick Question

Ms.Banks do you think you can come out Americas Next Top Model for men?

Thought #7 Her City

I've loved Whitney since her debut on The Hills. Here are some photos of Whitney in her designer mode hard at work. I can only imagine what it's like being a designer and how hard it is to come with ideas for garments that will do well. I myself don't have the patience or will power to be a designer but I tip my hat to young people like Whitney who succeed at making their dreams come true.

and the rest is still unwritten.. .

Thought #6 Something New?

For a while now I've wanted to become a fashion editor at a major fashion magazine but for some reason I've been getting pulled into the Public Relations side of fashion. A couple of friends have been asking me to help promote some of their blogspots and websites and I have. I like spreading the word of new and upcoming talent. Over the past few days I've been applying to Public Relation firms to intern and gain experience to see if I really want to choose this as my career. Wow that's such a big word "career" it makes me want to hurry up and graduate so I can branch out into the real world before I get too old even though I'm only 20 years old time waits for no one.

Thought #5 Backyard Fun

On this sunny California day my good old friend Rih came over and we decided to have a funny innocent photoshoot in my backyard. This wasn't for anything just fun between friends on a boring summer day.

This look was a one-piece romper that she came over in, very California.
This look was a skirt we found at a local vintage store down the street. I suggested she buy the belt and loafers being they were very cheap. When we got back to my house I also suggested she pulled the skirt up to her chest and wear it as a dress with a belt it at the waist. This is the end result beautiful isn't it? I think so.

This look was really a lot of fun we just took clothes out of my closet and put them on her I think she looked nice though.

Thought #4 Inspiration

So in my fundamentals and concepts of design class my professor told us we were required to make a inspiration book. The inspiration book was to consist of any and everything that inspires us. Things that inspire me and honestly and this may sound like a cliche` is fashion. The focus of my inspiration book is editorials. Being that I one day would like to become a fashion editor at Elle magazine I thought why not try and compose my own editorial pages. As the weeks grow I'll update you guys with photos of some of my pages.

Here's how my book looks

Here's an inside look at the first page it's the cover of Elle's latest cover. I'm inspired by this page because I one day would like to write for Elle Magazine so I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that maybe one day my dream will come true.

Thought #3 Guest Of Honor

I just have to say I love working at H&M. I love it even more when guest designers collaborate with the company to launch a line. In the past some of the guest designers have been Madonna, Jimmy Choo, and Roberto Cavalli. This year the guest designer was none other then Lanvin. Although my store itself didn't get to sale the collection because only certain stores were allowed to sale it we did get a few returns. I was lucky enough to come across one of the mens bow-ties that looked absolutely amazing. It goes with any and everything.

ta daa!

A night out w. my bestfriend and Lanvin
